The People vs. Daniel Hergenroeder. Nolle prossed. The People vs. August Keckritz, Defendant fined $25 and costs. Jacob Frank was appointed special bailiff of the grand jury. John Pieper was foreman of the grand jury; George Crob of Columbia, clerk. William Dillenberger, Jr., vs. Daniel Hergenroeder and Joseph Williams, dismissed at cost of defendant. Caroline Janson, Ex., etc., vs. William Gruninger, et. al., strict foreclosure. Hugh Murphy appointed receiver. Moritz Brandt, Hecker, Henry Taake, Mitchie, Hugo Arns and Henry Lang Jr., Waterloo were excused from petit jury service. Visiting attorneys present were E.E. Schnepp and Mr. Mason of St. Louis; William Winkelmann and Judger Holder of Belleville, Judge Burroughs of Edwardsville and Aug. Fridrichs of East St. Louis. The grand petit juries were both discharged Wednesday morning after making a remarkable record. The grand jury did not return a single indictment and the petit jurors did not get to try a case. In the matter of appointing an administrator for the estate of John Schnellbecker, deceased, William Rusteberg, Administrator, removed as administrator and Louis Faus appointed on condition that he files bond in the amount of $10,000. Among the bailiffs present were Herman Pape of Maeystown, Aug. Mund of New Hanover, John Honold of Columbia, Charles Ludwig of Moredock, Lester Pullen and Thomas Carr of Renault, Ed. Kipping of Bluff precinct, Ben Conrad and Berry May of Burksville and George Reheis of Hecker.
