The Waterloo Republican Thursday, March 8, 1900 COLUMBIA G.A. Mosbacher is quite seriously ill it is reported. Claude Gignoux of St. Louis spent Sunday here with friends. Henry Graef of East St. Louis was out Monday to spend the day at his old home. Mr. and Mrs. John Bowler of St. Louis visited their mother Mrs. L. Rose last Sunday. Miss Ursula Zimmermann of St. Louis is the guest of her friends the Misses Olga and Lily Bolm. Mr. and Mrs. George F. Dreher and son Willie spent Saturday and Sunday at St. Louis visiting relatives and friends. A child of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kuehner died Monday and was buried in the Catholic cemetery on Wednesday. Dr. Henry Heidelberg of Hecker visited the family of Louis Lieser on Saturday and Sunday. The Dr. looks the same as ever. The Western Union Tel. Co. has a force of about 25 men at work repairing their lines between here and East St. Louis. Nearly 200 poles are down and the wires are in a bad condition. Mrs. Barbara Lotz, Mrs. Chas. Lotz and daughter Bertha attended the marriage of Miss Emelia Kugler of St. Louis to Mr. Gus Lotz. The wedding took place on Thursday, March 1, at St. Louis. Mrs. Fannie Schmidt, nee Meier, consort of George Schmidt of Sugar Loaf Township died last Wednesday, Feb. 28, and was buried on Friday in the Catholic cemetery. She was aged 48 years. Mrs. Schmidt had been confirmed invalid for years, and death was a welcome relief to her. Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Lambrecht left for the south last Thursday. They went direct to Mobile and from there intend to go by steamer to Florida points. Mrs. Lambrecht has been in poor health for quite some time and the trip was taken with a hope of restoring it. They will be gone about a month.
