75th Anniversary Evangelical Synod

The seventy-fifth year of existence of the Evangelical Synod of North America 
is a year of jubilee and will be commemorated in the 1381 churches throughout 
the 36 states of the Union, in Canada and in the central Provinces of India.

Next Sunday the St. Paul’s Evangelical church of our city will celebrate here while 
at Mehville, St. Louis, Co., on the 15th inst., the birthday of the Synod.  It was founded 
October 15th, 1840, by the late Rev. Louis E. Nollau.  On Sunday the 17th there will 
be a local festival at the Coliseum in St. Louis on Jefferson and Washington in which 
the 27 congregations of the city and those of neighboring towns will participate.  For 
this reason there will be no service here on that Sunday (the 17th) and a large 
attendance from Waterloo will be expected at the Coliseum.
