The Waterloo Republican June 1, 1927 WEILBACHER’S STORE ROBBED SATURDAY MORNING By Columbia Correspondent The store of Hy Weilbacher & Sons was entered and robbed of several hundred dollars with of merchandise last Saturday morning. The burglars gained entrance thru a door and carried the goods out the same way. Henry Weilbacher occupies living rooms above the store, but he heard no alarming noises. Efforts were made to track the thieves but so far no clue has been obtained. Columbia had been invaded four times of late by such visitors and plans have been laid for better protection in the future. Over a thousand dollars worth of goods have been stolen from homes and business places within the past few months. Columbia needs a watchman after midnight more than before that hour.
