The Waterloo Times June 11, 1915 SOUP BONE CUTS LIKE KNIFE While splitting a soup bone for a customer Monday morning, Herman Goeddel, proprietor of the South Side Meat Market, accidentally cut his left hand on the sharp edges of the bone and severed an artery. His family physician patched him up but not before he had lost considerable blood. His hand has been rather sore this week as a result of the accident.
