KUNKEL-KEARNS Waterloo Republican June 1900 Tuesday morning Mr. Jos. H. Kunkel was married to Miss Mary Kearns in the Catholic church of this city, Father Krewet officiating. The groom is one of the popular and most successful teachers in the county, and the bride is the estimable daughter of the late Michael Kearns, one our prominent farmers. Miss Ella Vogel, daughter of H. G. Vogel, the well known merchant of Renault, and Mr. M. Kearns, a brother of the bride, attended the young couple. After the impressive ceremony the young couple were the recipients of the congratulations of their friends, after which they repaired to the residence of the bride’s mother where a fine wedding dinner was served, and to which ample instice was done. The afternoon was pleasantly spent in social amusement and a dance in the evening was enjoyed by the young folks. The marriage was rather quiet, only a few friends of the contracting parties being present. The couple have taken apartments in the Gardner place. Transcribed by Jean Jung
