Paul T. McDonald, 65, of Freeburg, died December 2, 2005, in Belleville. He was born April 5, 1940, in Belleville, the son of the late Clarence B. and Fleta L. McDonald nee Mitchell. He married Margaret “Missy” McDonald nee Dundon in 1960. He is survived by his wife; sons Colin McDonald, Ryan McDonald and Neill (Niki) McDonald, all of Freeburg; grandchildren Andrew McDonald, Meghan McDonald and Breanna McDonald; brother Tom (Charlotte) McDonald of Freeburg; sisters Jane (Ted) Gale of Freeburg, Sheila (Phil) Richardson of Centralia, Ann (Bruce) Weik of Galesburg, and Mary Melvin of Freeburg; and nieces nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter Mary Elizabeth “Libby” McDonald. Mr. McDonald was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Freeburg. He was retired as a coal miner from Peabody Coal and later worked in maintenance at Freeburg Care Center. He was a member of the Freeburg Sportsman’s Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Visitation was at George Renner and Sons Funeral Home in Freeburg. A funeral mass was at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Freeburg, the Rev. Rene DuFour officiating. He is buried at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Freeburg. Memorials may be made to Freeburg Sportsman’s Club, St. Joseph School Library, American Caner Society, or in the form of masses.
