Emma L. Haudrich nee Eckart, 81, of Smithton, died October 7, 2004, 
in Belleville. She was married to the late Cyril Haudrich. Mrs. Haudrich 
was born May 17, 1923, in Hecker, the daughter of the late Adam and 
Emma M. Eckart nee Birkner. She is survived by children Darwin (Donna) 
Haudrich of Hackett, Ariz., Norman (Diane) Haudrich of Paderborn, Karen 
(Dan) Helfrich of Smithton, and Mary (Lanny) Reed of Waterloo; 14 grand-
children, 21 great-grandchildren; brothers Edmund (Esther) Eckart of Hecker, 
and Ervin (Irene) Eckart of Waterloo; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She 
was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Mrs. Haudrich was
a member of St. Michael’s Church in Paderborn and St. John the Baptist 
Church in Smithton, as well as Smithton Senior Citizens. Visitation was at 
Quernheim Funeral Home. Her funeral mass was at St. Michael’s Church, 
Pastor Ken York officiating. She is buried at St. Michael’s Cemetery in 
Paderborn.
