Sickmeier, Monroe O. Monroe O. Sickmeier, 87, of Waterloo, died Dec. 20, 2006, in Columbia. He was born Jan. 13, 1919, in Prairie du Rocher, the son of the late Charles and Mary Sickmeier nee Barker. He was married to Irene H. Sickmeier nee Heller. Mr. Sickmeier is survived by his wife; children Norma (Robert) Coffel of Christopher, Gloria (Donald) Sickmeier-Goddard of Johnson City, Jerry Sickmeier of Columbia, Gail Ray (friend Brian Springton) of Prairie du Rocher, Steven (Carolyn) Sickmeier of Duluth, Ga., and Roger (Angie) Sickmeier of Waterloo; nine grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister. Mr. Sickmeier was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was a member of VFW Post 6504 in Waterloo. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. A funeral service was at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pastor Tony Troup officiating. He is buried at Waterloo Cemetery.
