Jaenke, Leona H. nee Gilbert
Leona H. Jaenke nee Gilbert, 85, of Waterloo, died May 28, 2006, in Waterloo. 
She was born Aug. 29, 1920, in Valmeyer, the daughter of the late Adam 
and Bertha Gilbert nee Scheibe. She was married to the late LeRoy Jaenke. 
Mrs. Jaenke is survived by her son David (Jill) Jaenke; grandchildren Derek 
Jaenke, Jena Jaenke and Doran Jaenke; sisters and brothers Carnel (Catherine) 
Gilbert of Valmeyer, Dorothy Johnson of Waterloo, Virginia Keaton of Waterloo, 
Alberta Wild of Waterloo, Roy (Yvonne) Gilbert of Fults, and Judy (Roger) Wild 
of Waterloo; and niece, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death 
by her parents and husband. Mrs. Jaenke was a member of St. John United Church 
of Christ in Valmeyer. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary 
and was a volunteer at Red Bud Regional Hospital and the Monroe County Care 
and Rehab Center. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral services 
were at St. John United Church of Christ in Valmeyer, Pastor David Riebeling 
officiating. She is buried at St. John Cemetery in Valmeyer. Memorials may be made 
to St. John United Church of Christ in Valmeyer.
