Hermes, Elenora F. nee Hughes
Elenora F. Hermes nee Hughes, 88, of Waterloo, died March 22, 2006, 
in Columbia. She was born November 29, 1917, in Marydale, the daughter 
of the late Peter and Florence Hughes nee Olga. She was married to the late 
John W. Hermes. Mrs. Hermes is survived by her son John (Karen) Hermes 
of Waterloo; daughter-in-law Debbie Hermes; grandchildren Ann Hermes, 
Peter Hermes, Michael Hermes and Mark Hermes; brother-in-law Ervin 
Hodapp; and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by 
her parents, husband, son Joseph M. Hermes, and brothers. Mrs. Hermes 
was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Trenton, where she was a member 
of Altar Sodality. She was also a member of the Trenton VFW Ladies Auxiliary. 
Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. A funeral mass was at St. Mary’s 
Church in Trenton, Fr. James Dougherty officiating. Memorials may be made 
to the American Cancer Society or in the form of masses at St. Mary’s Church 
in Trenton.
