Friz, Robert T. 
Robert T. Friz, 73, of Columbia (New Hanover), died March 11, 2006, in 
St. Louis. He was born May 16, 1932, in Quincy, the son of the late Pastor 
Gerhard and Grace B. Friz nee Dumke. He was married to Patricia Friz nee 
Baisch. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Friz wrote a newspaper column for several 
years on local outdoor lore. He was a retired printer at the St. Louis Post-
Dispatch. Mr. Friz is survived by his wife; children Matthew (Stephanie) Friz 
of Valmeyer, and Joel (Angelia) Friz of Belleville; grandchildren Nathan Friz, 
Victoria Friz, Lydia Friz and Jessica Friz; brother Richard (Madaline) Friz of 
New Hampshire; and nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Friz was preceded in 
death by his parents. Mr. Friz was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of 
Christ in Floraville and Zoar Brotherhood. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral 
Home. Funeral services were at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Floraville, 
Pastor Matt Friz officiating. He is buried at Zoar Cemetery in New Hanover. 
Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Floraville’s 
Building Fund.
