The Waterloo Republican June, 3, 1908 DEATHS SCHILLINGMANN William Schillingman died at his residence on North Market Street June 1, 1908, aged 76 years. He was born in Engershausen, Germany on June 9, 1832. In 1854 he emigrated to America, residing a few months in St. Louis, thence coming to Waterloo at the solicitation of the late Mr. Kaemper, for whom he worked for a while. Later he set up a shop of his own, and which he operated for several years. He was married to Miss Catherine Brauch March 20, 1860. To this union were born Henry, Phillip of Akron, William Jr., Mrs. Henry Weber of Indianapolis, Mrs. George Herchenroeder of Akron, Mrs. Claud Caes of El Paso, Mrs. Louis Kalb of Indianapolis, and Miss Adella at home. He served in the Union army during the Rebellion, and was a member of the Knights of Honor. The remains were interred in the Waterloo cemetery this afternoon. Many friends attended the funeral and extended condolences to the family.
