This was in the Carl Junction, Standard, Carl Junction, Missouri, Jasper County on December 25, 1914 Reis---Entered into rest in this city, Friday, December 18, 1914. George Reis, aged 70 years, 7 months and 14 days. Mr. Reis was born in Monroe county, Illinois. In 1862 he enlisted in the 7th Ill. Cal., serving until 1865. He was married to Barbara E. Betz, November 23, 1873. To this marriage were born eleven children, nine of whom, with the mother, survive the father. The children are: Theodore H. Reis, Neck City; Mrs. Lucy Estes, Mt. Vernon, ILL; Mrs. Lena Lortz, Twin Groves; Mrs. Irene Rounmds, Mrs. Viola Downs, Louis Willis, Monroe and Ira Reis, Carl Junction. Mr. Reis was a consistent member of the M. E. Church of this city, also a member of the Grand Army Post. Mr. Reis had resided in Carl Junction for seven or eight years; he was a quiet, orderly and upright citizen. Funeral services were held at the M. E. church Sunday at 2 p. m., conducted by the pastor, J. W. Moore; interment in the city cemetery. submitted by Carolyn Sue Smith
