The Waterloo Times April 2, 1915 Edward J. McQuillan died March 23, 1915 in the St. Clement’s Hospital at Red Bud, Ill. He was 70 years old on the 8th day of March. On the 9th of March he was taken from his home on the farm near Hecker to Red Bud. He had been ailing for the past two years with a complication of diseases. He was born in St. Louis and at the age of 21 years in 1866 he was united in marriage with Miss Jane Thompson and located on a farm near Hecker. Later he moved to Macon Co., Ill. Where he lived for a short time. His daughter Minnie and only child was born at this place. He again returned to his farm near Hecker where he resided ever since. In 1903 his wife died. In 1909 he remarried to Elizabeth Marile who survives him and at present is on the farm. He served the people as Justice of the Peace and Notary Public for the past 30 years. He leaves a widow, one daughter one brother, three sisters and a host of grand-children to mourn their loss. His remains were laid to rest in St. Augustine’s Catholic Church yard west of Hecker last Friday morning attended with the ceremonies of Rev. Kaup.
