The Waterloo Republican April 21, 1948 Mrs. Rose Kunkel, 58, Dies At Home Here Mrs. Rose Ann Kunkel, 58, widow of the late Joseph F. Kunkel, died at her home in Waterloo on April 16, 1948. Mrs. Kunkel was born September 7, 1889, near Tipton, Ill, and is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Alfred Siegfried of Red Bud, Miriam, Madonna and Adele Kunkel, all of Waterloo; two sons, Walter and Robert Kunkel of Waterloo; her mother-in-law Mrs. Mary Tute; five sisters, Mrs. Christ Kern, Mrs. William Carbrey, Mrs. Ambrose Doyle, Mrs. Herman Hess, and Mrs. Chester Kribs; one brother Walter Kelley, and three grandchildren. A daughter preceded her in death. The funeral took place Monday morning, April 19, from the Quernheim Funeral Home, with services in the Waterloo Catholic Church, Rev. C. Hellrung officiating. Burial was in the cemetery at Tipton.
