Russell, Robert
Robert R. Russell, 80, of Valmeyer, died June 29, 2005, in Waterloo. He was born February 19, 1925, 
in Marissa, the son of the late Ross and Sarah Russell nee Whitmore. He was married to Luella A. Russell 
nee Kuergeleis. He is survived by his daughter Bobbie L. Russell of Valmeyer; brother-in-law Larry Biggs 
of DeSoto, Mo., and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister 
Lora Mae Biggs. Mr. Russell was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Valmeyer, where he 
was a past president. He was a member of the Valmeyer American Legion, Waterloo VFW, Waterloo 
Sportsman’s Club, and Maeystown Sportsman’s Club. He worked for the U.S. Air Mobility Command 
for 35 years. Visitation and funeral services were at Quernheim Funeral Home, Pastor David Riebeling 
officiating. He is buried at Jefferson barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorials may be made to 
St. John United Church of Christ in Valmeyer.
