Kuergeleis, Arnold L. 
Arnold L. Kuergeleis, 82, of Columbia, died November 19, 2005, in St. Louis. 
He was born July 9, 1923, in Valmeyer, the son of the late George and Rosa 
Kuergeleis nee Diehl. He was married to Ellen Kuergeleis nee Altes. He is 
survived by his wife; children Thomas H. (Susan) Kuergeleis of Columbia, and 
Bonnie (Steve) Thom of Minneapolis, Minn.; grandchildren Amy (Joshua) Mistler, 
Jennifer Kuergeleis, Amanda Kuergeleis and Caleb Thom; great-grandchildren 
Molly Mistler and Jameson Mistler; and sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law, nieces, 
nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Harold 
Kuergeleis. Mr. Kuergeleis was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in 
Maeystown. He was also a member of Monroe County Farm Bureau and Turner’s 
Association. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. Funeral services were at 
St. John United Church of Christ, Pastor Ivan Horn and Pastor Bob Goddard 
officiating. He is buried at St. John Cemetery in Maeystown. Memorials may be 
made to St. John United Church of Christ in Maeystown or St. Paul Untied Church 
of Christ in Columbia.
