Joslin, Carl Sr. Carl “Curley” Joslin Sr., 85, of Columbia, died December 16, 2005, in Columbia. He was born June 30, 1920, in East St. Louis, the son of the late Albert and Florence Joslin nee Rainy. He married the late Florence G. Joslin nee Mooney in 1941; she preceded him in death in 1998. He is survived by his daughters Janice (Gary) Crawford of Columbia, and Sherri (David) Markham of Manchester, Mo.; grandchildren David Markham, Michael (I-Fei Chen-) Markham, and Katie (Adam) Thomure; sister Dorothy Kovorik of Caseyville; and brother Frank (Gladys) Joslin of Winter Park, Fla. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother Clarence Joslin. Mr. Joslin was retired from Phillips Petroleum in East St. Louis. He was also the former owner of Curley’s Tavern in Cahokia. He was a member of Centerville Men’s Club. Visitation and funeral services were at Lawlor Funeral Home, Fr. Steve Gira officiating. He is buried at Evangelical St. Paul Cemetery in Columbia. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or Lafayette Industries.
