Jones, Robert E.
Robert E. Jones, 56, of Waterloo, died May 21, 2005. He was born April 2, 1949, in East St. Louis, 
the son of the late Claude and Edna Mae Jones nee Hartung. He is survived by his sisters Patricia Lewis 
of St. Louis and Marilyn Jones of Waterloo; brother Claude Jones of Westville, Ind.; nephews Jim 
(Carmen) Lewis and Jason Jones; nieces Ali Jones, Dawn Merlenbach and Diana (Dennis) Daugherty; 
great-nephews Joshua Lewis and Ian Daugherty; great-nieces Erica Merlenbach, Rachel Merlenbach, 
Karrie Merlenbach, Clara Lewis, Molly Lewis, Miranda Daugherty and Sarah Daugherty; and friends. 
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Sondra Jones. Mr. Jones was a Vietnam veteran. 
Visitation and funeral services were at DeFabio Funeral Home. He is buried at Jefferson Barracks 
National Cemetery in St. Louis.
