Harbison, Charles A.

Charles A. “Art” Harbison, 70, of Kansas City, formerly of Waterloo, died December 3, 2005, 
in Kansas City. He was born April 28, 1935, in Banner, Mo., the son of the late Charles A. 
Harbison and Evelyn Robert nee Walker. He was married to Karen Harbison nee Branson. He 
is survived by his wife; children Jody (Dennis) Schreder of Valmeyer; Karla (Mark) Gelino of 
Kansas City; Trisha (Carl) Goodman of Sparta; and Kristi Harbison (good friend Jessica Woods) 
of Kansas City; grandchildren Mandy (Jeff) Herring, Anthony Schreder, Casey Schreder, Keith 
Hoffmann Jr., Jamie Hoffmann, Jesse Gelino, Chuck Goodman and Samantha Harbison; great-
grandchildren Haleigh Herring and Lucas Herring; friend David Martin; and sisters-in-law, brothers-
in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Michael Charles 
Harbison, sister Virginia Yeager, and brother Jerry Gum. Visitation and funeral services were at 
Quernheim Funeral Home, Pastor Mary Beth Hartenstein officiating. He is buried at Kolmer Memorial 
Cemetery.
