Delatine, Louis E. Louis E. Delatine Sr., 92, of Hecker, died July 11, 2005, in Columbia. He was born July 11, 2005, in East St. Louis, the son of the late Louis and Mable Delatine nee Gardner. He was married to the late Helen L. Delatine nee Klenzle. He is survived by his children Louis E. (Kathy) Delatine Jr. of Millstadt, and Jeanne Kaltenbronn of Hecker; grandchildren Chad Delatine of Millstadt, Christopher (Dawn) Kaltenbronn of Waterloo, Karen Kaltenbronn of Hecker, Kevin (Silvia) Kaltenbronn of Hecker, Kirk Kaltenbronn of Chicago, and Kenny (Jessie) Kaltenbronn of Valmeyer; great-grandchildren CJ Delatine Jr. of Mascoutah, Mercedes, Marryn, Kole and Lidia Kaltenbronn, and Logan and Conner Kaltenbronn; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son-in-law Michael G. Kaltenbronn. Mr. Delatine was a member of St. Augustine Church in Hecker and the North County Country Club. He attended St. Regis Catholic Grade School, East St. Louis High School and McKendree College. He played minor league baseball as a pitcher in the St. Louis Cardinals organization and later the F.O.Y. in East St. Louis. He was a pattern maker at American Steele and retired from Alvin B. Clark Agency as an insurance engineer. He and his wife Helen were avid crappie fishermen. There was no visitation or funeral; a private burial was held. Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice.
