The Waterloo Republican June 1, 1927 Deaths WHITESIDE John D. Whiteside, ar., died in St. Louis May 26, 1927, aged 72 years and 8 months. Some time last winter he noticed a little pimple on his head which had apparently healed. Later, however, it again began to pain him, and he went to the city for treatment. The ailment was too deep seated and led to his death. The deceased was born on the Whiteside farm and resided there nearly all his life, but had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Ralph Collier, in Waterloo for the past few years. The deceased was married to Miss Caroline Frick on December 16, 1884. To this union were born five children Mabel died in 1902. The others are Mrs. Ralph Collier of Waterloo, George Whiteside of Red Bud, Mrs. H. Wooster of St. Louis and Mrs. J. Collier of Red Bud. He also leaves a half sister Mrs. Sylvia Mulligan of Red Bud. The remains were interred in the Round Prairie cemetery Sunday after noon, with services conducted by Rev. P. Brink of Red Bud. The deceased was highly respected by all who knew him, and the funeral was attended by quite a number of sympathizing friends.
