Obit Markus, Camillus "Cam" J. Camillus “Cam” J. Markus, 77, of Waterloo, died October 3, 2004, in Red Bud. He was married to Delores Markus nee Kapp; she survives him. Mr. Markus was born June 30, 1927, in Aviston, the son of the late John and Catherine Markus nee Wehlage. He is survived by his wife; children Darlene (Bob) Niebruegge of Waterloo, Linda Luhr of Waterloo, and Michael (Dawn) Markus of Columbia; grandchildren Dan (Lauren) Niebruegge, Bill Niebruegge, Jason Luhr, Kacie Luhr, Matt Markus and Lance Markus; brothers Alfred (Rita) Markus, of Royal Oak, Mich., and Cyril (Edna) Markus, of Breese; sisters-in-law Rose Markus, Mary Markus and Mildred Kapp; and nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Gregory Markus and Hubert Markus, and sisters Rosina Markus and Marcella Richter. Mr. Markus was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, where he was in the Holy Name Society. He retired from Monsanto and was also a member of the Waterloo Knights of Columbus Council #1334. There was no visitation. His funeral mass was at Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Waterloo. Memorials may be made to Gibault Catholic High School in Waterloo, Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois.
