Kunkel, Frank Obituary, Waterloo Republic, October, 1900 Frank Kunkel, one Renault’s good citizens, died at his home in that precinct last Thursday, October 11, 1900 aged about 50 years. Mr. Kunkel was born in New Orleans, but came to Monroe county when a year old with his parents. He was well known and occupied many positions during his life, having served as postmaster of Renault during President Garfield’s administration, and having served as justice during the past six years. He was married to Miss Mary May, daughter of Mr. P. May, one of Renault’s best farmers, in 1882. Transcribed by Jean Jung
