Weatherford, Jerry D. Obit Jerry D. Weatherford, 66, of Columbia, died Jan. 30, 2007, in St. Louis. He was born Sept. 11, 1940, in Culleoka, Tenn., the son of the late Jerald and Mildred Weatherford nee Valentine. He was married to Elaine Weatherford. Mr. Weatherford is survived by his wife; children Gregory (Andrea) Weatherford of Columbia, and Laura (Michael) Seitz of Moweaqua; grandchildren Breck, Paige, Kelsey and Ryan; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Weatherford was a member of Kirkwood United Methodist Church and drove the church bus. He retired after 32 years of teaching biology, as well as driver’s education, at Fox High School in Arnold, Mo. He was also an adjunct professor at Jefferson College. He was currently an usher for the St. Louis Cardinals, working Homer’s Landing then the Coca-Cola Scoreboard Patio for 12 years. He was also a school bus driver for the Columbia Community Unit #4 School District. Visitation was at Lawlor Funeral Home. A service of celebration was held at United Methodist Church in Kirkwood. A private graveside service was held at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Moweaqua. Memorials may be made to Kirkwood’s United Methodist Church, Fox High School biology department or the St. Louis Cardinals’ charitable foundation Cardinals Care.
