Walla, James W. James W. Walla, 69, of Waterloo, died May 7, 2007, in St. Louis. He was born March 15, 1938, in St. Louis, the son of the late Frank J. Walla and Millie E. Walla nee Kiefer. He married Edith G. Walla nee Beckham in 1961. Mr. Walla is survived by his wife; children Tom (Susan) Walla of Columbia, Mike (Laine) Walla of O’Fallon, Mo., John (Tonya) Walla of Waterloo, Jeff Walla of Waterloo, Carol Walla of Waterloo, Lisa (Rusty) Ezzell of Prairie du Rocher, and Ron Walla of Festus, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Gene Walla, Tom Walla and Mike Walla; and sister Marie Stengel. Mr. Walla was a retired truck driver and member of Teamsters Local #600 in St. Louis. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Alton. Visitation and a funeral service were at Lawlor Funeral Home, Pastor Kim Kelly officiating. He is buried at Woodland Hills Cemetery in East Alton. Memorials may be made to Christ United Church of Christ in Dupo, or the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
