Sukup, Betty E. nee Scarborough

Betty E. Sukup nee Scarborough, 86, of Columbia, formerly 
of Dupo, died Aug. 25, 2007, in Columbia. She was born 
Jan. 28, 1921, in Paducah, Ky., the daughter of the late Oscar 
and Katie Scarborough nee Quinn. Mrs. Sukup is survived by 
her son Larry (Nancy) Sukup of Columbia; grandchildren 
Michelle (Kevin) Volner of Waterloo, and Jeff Sukup of Columbia; 
great-grandchildren Clayton Volner, Zachary Volner, Spencer 
Sukup and Dawson Sukup; sister Leah Cain; brother Oscar 
Scarborough; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and two 
brothers. Ms. Sukup was retired from the Missouri Athletic Club 
and was the former owner of Betty’s Bouquet in Dupo. She 
enjoyed gardening, reading and crafts. Visitation and a funeral 
service were at Dashner Funeral Home, Rev. Rick Lay officiating. 
Per her request, she was cremated and interred at Valhalla Gardens 
of Memory in Belleville. Memorials may be made to the hospice 
of choice.
