Steinsieck, Emilie H. M. nee Buettner   Obit

Emilie H.M. Steinsieck nee Buettner, 97, of Waterloo, died Feb. 18, 2007, 
in Red Bud. She was born Aug. 4, 1090, in Mitchie Precinct, the daughter 
of the late Louis H. and Marie Buettner nee Kohlmeier. She was married to 
the late Theodore H. Steinsieck. Mrs. Steinsieck is survived by her children 
Eunice (Arthur) Stroh of New Athens, and Carol (David) Sondag of Waterloo; 
grandchildren Sheryl (Jay) Lewis, Stacy (Joe Federhofer) Sondag, Michelle 
(Dave) Zaiz, and Curtis (Ericha) Sondag; great-grandchildren Andrea Lewis, 
Jason Lewis, Megan Zaiz and Allison Zaiz; and nieces, nephews and cousins. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Victor Buettner 
Sr., and sisters Anna Johanning, Ilo Thorburg and Martha Schmeding. Mrs. 
Steinsieck was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wartburg. She 
was a member of Holy Cross Ladies Aid for 73 years and was a member of 
the Lutheran Hour. She was also a member of the Monroe County Farm 
Bureau. Visitation was at Quernheim Funeral Home. A funeral service was at 
Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wartburg, Pastor Stuart Rethwisch officiating. 
She is buried at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Wartburg. Memorials may 
be made to th4e Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Wartburg Memorial Fund 
or the American Heart Association.
