SCHMITT Mrs. Paulina Schmitt, nee Mentel, widow of the late William Schmitt, died at the hospital in St. Louis Saturday, Nov. 1, 1924, aged 58 years, 1 month and 20 days. The remains were brought to this city for interment and laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery after requiem High Mass this morning. The deceased was born near Foster Pond, and resided in the vicinity and in Waterloo for many years. Later, however, the family moved to St. Louis, which had been the family home in recent years. Mr. Schmitt preceded her in death which occurred Sept. 8, 1923. The surviving children were William, Edward, Jacob, John and Roy all of St. Louis. She also leaves, sisters, Mrs. Edward Kipping and Mrs. Al Kohler, and brothers, Adam, John, and Fred Mentel. The deceased was held in high esteem by all and the funeral was largely attended.
