Waterloo Republican September 19, 1917 Skaer, Anna Mrs. Anna Skaer (nee Sauzeck) wife of the late William Skaer of Floraville died Monday September 10, 1917, after a lingering illness of several years, at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 20 days. She was a well known and highly respected woman and also a good church member. She was born in Schwiehoff, Austria Sept. 20, 1837. At the age of 13 she came to this country with her folks and settled at St. Louis. On May 26, 1857 she married to William Skaer and they settled on a farm near Floraville. In 1896 they retired and moved to Floraville. Nine Children were born to this union, four of them and the father preceded her to the other world. She leaves to mourn her death five children, Mrs. Chas Daesch of near New Athens, Mrs. Jacob Faurs of Waterloo, Mrs. Chas Klein of Floraville and Edward and Wm. Skaer Jr. of near Floraville, also twelve grandchildren and two sisters Mrs. Josephine Grob of St. Louis and Mrs. Fanny Kaburich of Litchfield, Ill. Her remains were laid to rest Wednesday afternoon in the Floraville cemetery. Rev U. Barkan concluded the service. May she rest in peace
